Waste treatment currently represents a major ecological issue. The objective is to limit the production of waste and enable their elimination by recovering as much waste as possible. To do so requires that waste be sorted at the source to the fullest extent possible, as this is the only solution that enables effective recycling.
In this spirit, the City has undertaken to develop selective door-to-door collection on a voluntary basis. This measures calls for the participation and a heightened sense of responsibility on the part of each and everyone.
Household Selective Waste Collection
Launched in 1994 in the Bel Air district as a pilot project, the selective collection of household recyclable packaging waste has since progressively expanded. Since the month of June 2001, the selective collection of household recyclable packaging waste is conducted throughout the entire communal territory. This involves both individual households and multiple-dwelling buildings. Specific waste receptacles have been distributed for this purpose.
